After attending graduate school together at SMU in Dallas, classmates Mallory and Benny came up with an original idea: what if there were paper plates that were inspired by classic china patterns and cool, contemporary art? They felt that paper plates had the potential to bring a more playful element to gatherings while simultaneously eliminating the need to do dishes. Mallory, being a mother, and Benny, being an interiors enthusiast, wanted to bring this idea to life, and their concept of disposable china was born.
The name "Pavilion" arose from a few concepts. There are a handful of pavilions adorning the beaches along 30A that are both Mallory and Benny's happy place, and bringing paper plates to the beach is always a must. A pavilion is also a "temporary architectural structure," which goes along with the theme of a disposable plate. Often, these structures have stacked roofs to boot, just like the concept of stacking appetizer plates onto dinner plates.
